Stuart Taaffe ACCA, ACII
Joint Managing Director
Stuart is a qualified Accountant with over 20 year’s experience. He began his Insurance career in 2005 when he joined Quinn Insurance as Commercial Underwriting Manager. Since 2007 Stuart has specialised in Professional Indemnity Insurance for solicitors and is recognised as one of the leading experts for Solicitors PI in Ireland.
Stuart’s wealth of experience helps him understand the ever changing risks facing solicitors when it comes to their Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Seamus entered the world of insurance in 2001 and has managed various divisions, during his many years in the industry, including claims and commercial functions. Seamus specialises in underwriting all aspects of Commercial Business with particular emphasis on Casualty, Property and larger clients.
Seamus brings a wealth of commercial underwriting and sales experience to Tysers and along with the other members of the team, he also specialises in Solicitors Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Head of Compliance
David has worked in the insurance industry since 2006. During this time, David has underwritten Bonds, Commercial Risks and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
David specialises in underwriting Professional Indemnity Insurance for Solicitors and has been doing so since 2007. David has an in-depth knowledge of the Solicitor’s Professional Indemnity market in Ireland and this experience is brought to the fore when underwriting this class of business.
As well as his underwriting experience, David has many years’ experience in operations management and he holds the position of Head of Compliance for Tysers and is also a member of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland.
Connor holds an honours degree in finance, a masters degree in Geographical Information Systems and is CIP qualified.
Connor joined Tysers in 2012 as a Trainee Underwriter and has worked his way up to the position of Underwriter and has experience underwriting Commercial Combined Risks.
Connor is a key member of the team when it comes to Solicitor’s Professional Indemnity Insurance. Connor is responsible for managing the submission and quotation process as well as liaising with our broking partners as and when required.
Joint Managing Director
John began his career when he joined a corporate broker – Bernard Mc Mahon Insurances in 1991 where upon leaving he held the position of Operations Manager. John then moved to Fingal Insurance Brokers as Account Director until May 2012 when he joined the team in Tysers.
As well as underwriting John is seen as a key contact for our brokers for all their marine and associated requirements.
Underwriting & Development Manager
Brendan commenced his insurance career when he joined Irish National Insurance Company which was later acquired by Zurich Insurance. Upon leaving in 2009 he held the position of Marine Underwriting & Development Manager. In January 2010 Brendan joined the team in Tysers and holds the position of Underwriting & Development Manager.
Brendan is a former Chairman of the Irish Institute of Marine Underwriters and was the Head of Delegation in Vancouver 2008 and in Bruges 2009. Brendan is also a well-known figure in the Irish Insurance market and is a market reference point with respect to Marine insurance.
Aoife commenced her insurance career in 2001 and previously specialised as a Corporate Insurance Broker. Aoife brings with her a vast experience of many varying industries and their insurance requirements.
Aoife joined the Tysers team as an Underwriter in 2017.
Michael has been adjusting and surveying marine losses since 1981. Michael was a self employed marine surveyor and loss adjuster prior to joining the team in 2019.
Michael is a leading authority in marine losses in Ireland and this knowledge allows Tysers give our brokers a complete service of their Marine requirements right through to the conclusion of claims.
Sandra was admitted as an associate to the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland in November 1994. She previously worked in practice and financial services with BNP Paribas and Xerox and operated her own consultancy service before joining the firm in 2015.
Sandra is responsible for the Credit Control, Reporting and Finance functions of Tysers.
